The question usually arises what size rim / tyre combination will suit the Morris Minor, the table below hopefully will answer this.
From the above the closest to the original 5.20 tyre in revolutions per mile is the 165-80x13. In order to use this you will need to take your Morris wheels and have them cut down at a wheel manufacturer where they will fit an aftermarket 5" rim (narrowest available in Australia). These rims will also be safety rims, which is something you don't have on a Morris at present. For all of this you will have improved road holding, greater selection of tyres and still use your Morris hub caps. Should you wish to retain the original 3" rim the 155-80x14 would be the next closest, I currently use these for most club events. Handling is much improved with no other suspension modifications. Other alternatives would be the later series Morris Major Elite rims which are a 4".
